Two electronics distributors have recently added Anybus products from HMS Industrial Networks to their product range: Rutronik enables entry into the world of IIoT with the HMS Anybus adapter board developed in-house. As part of a sales partnership with HMS Networks, RS-Components has added the Anybus in numerous variants to its portfolio, as well as the HMS products Ewon and Ixxat.
Anybus was originally developed in Sweden and was able to enable communication in factory automation with all common fieldbus systems and Industrial Ethernet networks and between them. Technology founder and pioneer HMS has now networked over 7 million devices in factory automation and connected more than 400,000 machines with cloud systems worldwide. Anybus Comunicator and the X-gateways are available in more than 300 different variants to enable automation devices to communicate with each other in a wide variety of initial situations - including wireless solutions for wireless data transmission via Bluetooth, WLAN or mobile radio.
Ewon devices enable effective and sustainable remote maintenance, proactive remote monitoring and data integration. A very broad portfolio of CAN/CAN FD products such as PC interfaces, repeaters, bridges, gateways and PLC extensions can be found under the Ixxat brand name. There are various robust and reliable solutions for control applications, diagnostics or configuration, especially for connecting a PC to CAN-based networks. "The cooperation with RS gives us the opportunity to open up new customer groups. In return, RS is able to offer its customers technical innovations that enable the data networking of devices and machines in order to increase productivity and sustainability," says Thilo Döring, Managing Director of HMS Industrial Networks.
The HMS Anybus adapter board developed by Rutronik System Solutions also enables connectivity with all important networks in the industrial environment. According to Rutronik, the Anybus technology is also currently the most trustworthy solution with integrated security functions such as packet storm resistance, server and client certificates and access control. All components used for the board are available in Rutronik's product portfolio. In addition, the Anybus board can be perfectly combined and stacked with the RDK2 development kit, which was also developed by Rutronik System Solutions, using the Arduino interface. "Secure connectivity in IIoT applications is one of the main tasks in implementing the digital transformation and Industry 4.0. However, implementation is time-consuming and resource-intensive," explains Stephan Menze, Head of Global Innovation Management at Rutronik. "With our adapter board HMS Anybus, we offer a solution. Challenges in terms of conformity, integration of new networks, upgrades and maintenance are easy to overcome - the effort required to implement IIoT applications is minimized."
