Inova Semiconductors, a fabless semiconductor manufacturer based in Munich, Germany, will produce its ISELED smart LED controllers at Samsung Foundry in Korea.
Samsung Electronics, Inova Semiconductors and CoAsia SEMI are working on the launch of ISELED products utilizing technologies from Samsung Semiconductors and services from CoAsia SEMI. This will be multi-sourced to the existing foundry. Volume production is planned to start in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Inova's ISELED technology - also known as 'Digital LED' - is already being used by numerous automotive manufacturers in Europe and Asia thanks to its ease of use without binning and calibration. With the ISELED Alliance, a consortium of more than 50 companies in the lighting industry, Inova expects to reach 1 billion ISELED chips per year from 2026.
