EMH metering celebrates its 30th anniversary

EMH metering GmbH from Gallin/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was founded in 1991 by the Hamburg electrical engineer Peter Scheew. One year after reunification, he founded a company for digital metering technology, EMH Elektrizitätszähler GmbH & Co KG, in Wittenburg (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania).

In 2010, the company was renamed EMH metering GmbH & Co KG. In 2012, the company moved to a new, larger site in Gallin - also in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At a second site in Brackel near Hamburg, 50 experienced specialists work in research and development for new metering technology. EMH metering has had a sales office in Switzerland since 2020. Today, EMH metering is one of the most important manufacturers of load profile and industrial meters worldwide. The company can supply the entire meter and communication portfolio required by the energy sector - from FNN base meters to smart meter gateways and e-mobility solutions.

With its 300 employees, EMH metering currently produces around 900,000 devices per year at its production site in Gallin. The company is currently investing in production in line with Industry 4.0 standards.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company is unfortunately unable to celebrate its birthday with a party. Instead, a company chronicle is to be published this year, in which customers, partners and employees will have their say.
