Europe grows faster than the world - profits increase by 95.4

According to a new infographic from the news and information platform Kryptoszene, European companies with high earnings growth in Q1 2021, with an average of 95.4% out of 306 companies in the Stoxx 600 Index.

The value of European stocks also rose compared to their global peers. Year-to-date performance was higher in Europe than in any other region of the world. The MSCI Europe Index is the best global index in terms of YTD performance. Accordingly, an investment in the MSCI Europe at the beginning of the year would have yielded 14.15% in the portfolio today. The MSCI North America generated 14.05% in the same period. The order situation is also picking up significantly this year. Production grew by 42.3% in April 2021.

According to the latest figures and forecasts from the EU authority Eurostat, the unemployment rate across Europe is likely to rise again in 2021, but then fall again the following year. In 2019, the unemployment rate across the EU was 6.7%, then rose to 7.1% in 2020 and is expected to be around 7.6% this year. An improvement to 7.0% is then expected in 2022.

In the course of the coronavirus crisis measures, public debt within Europe has risen to a new record level. It now stands at 102.4% in the eurozone. In 2019, it was still at 85.8%.
