On July 13, 2021, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection awarded BMK electronic services the first Bavarian Resource Efficiency Prize. The ministry presented this award for the first time in 2021. The prize is awarded to Bavarian companies that are committed to the sustainable use of natural resources with pioneering achievements.
The prize is part of the environmental and climate pact between the Bavarian economy and the Bavarian state government. A total of 29 companies applied, four of which were awarded prizes. The challenge was to design the recycling of materials as soon as they were used, thus ensuring a material cycle.
BMK electronic services has been analyzing and repairing electronic assemblies in the industrial environment since 2001 according to the principle of 'rebuilding instead of producing new'. By repairing and replacing components, fewer new assemblies need to be produced, which significantly reduces the amount of waste and disposal costs. Electronic components and their primary materials, e.g. tungsten, gold, coltan and tin, are saved and the service life of the products is extended.
