The EMS industry is changing. Large companies (> 50 million euros turnover) are growing twice as fast as small EMS companies. In addition, the purchasing behavior of OEMs and companies that buy the electronic part of their products or the complete product from EMS companies has changed.
They are once again increasingly looking for a production partner in Europe, in some cases in close proximity, and are withdrawing some of their orders from the Far East. However, many buyers do not have an overview of EMS companies in Europe. Advertisements in trade journals quickly fizzle out, printed purchasing guides do not provide a complete overview and quickly become outdated, even the very large EMS providers are not known to many buyers.
There are a few buying guides on the Internet, but these are incomplete, out of date and sometimes contain companies that do not offer any EMS services at all or trading companies that work for EMS companies in the Far East.
However, the market is changing, over half of buyers are now under 39 years old and live and work completely digitally. These changes require a different marketing approach.
In a cooperation between in4ma/Weiss Engineering(www.in4ma.de) and matthias holsten e²-consulting GmbH(www.holsten-econsulting.de), the first complete digital purchasing guide for the EMS industry in Europe has now been created(www.ems-scout.de).
665 EMS companies in D-A-CH, or companies that offer EMS services in addition to their own products, are listed with their company name and location. After registering, EMS companies can add various search criteria and thus be found in a targeted manner.
The digital purchasing guide will be successively expanded to include all 2,175 EMS companies in Europe.
