The R-Car Starter Kit, based on the R-Car Automotive System-on-Chip (SoC) from Renesas, is now available as a development environment for the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP).
MCVP combines a partner ecosystem with a horizontal platform of Azure cloud, AI and edge services. Mobility companies can build customer-oriented solutions on it. Renesas has also been certified for Azure IoT Hub and Azure IoT Edge, the Microsoft platform that enables the delivery of digital services for vehicles, bi-directional network connectivity and continuous over-the-air updates of container functions. Within the Renesas development environment, the cooperation enables users to use MCVP components and the Renesas Board Support Package (BSP) in addition to the multimedia package for R-Car. In addition, the R-Car Starter Kit is certified as an Azure IoT Edge Device.
