In fall 2019, Ersa and LPKF Laser & Electronics held the first joint Technology Day on the topic of solutions, processes and systems for in-house PCB prototyping, prototype soldering and reworking. Due to the positive feedback, the Technology Day will also be offered in 2020. The next event will take place in northern Germany at LPKF in Garbsen on March 24, 2020.
The Technology Day, entitled 'From idea to prototype - fast, simple and flexible', will once again cover the entire process of manufacturing prototypes of electronic assemblies. It will focus in detail on PCB structuring using lasers and circuit board plotters, through-hole plating, solder paste application and component assembly as well as manual soldering and reworking of assembled PCBs. As in the previous year, presentations and live demos will provide insights into the processes and systems of both companies. Participants will be able to try out all the systems and exchange ideas with the process experts. At the event, the two companies will jointly demonstrate new ways of quickly and cost-effectively implementing ideas and manufacturing prototype assemblies through to the finished electronic product. Both companies will also be passing on their extensive process knowledge and many years of experience to interested parties from research, development, prototype construction and testing at the event.
Ersa, for example, will be bringing rework systems for prototyping, various soldering stations, soldering irons and soldering tips, as well as heating plates, solder fume extraction systems and systems for reworking to Garbsen. LPKF will be exhibiting various systems that can be used to precisely process PCB surfaces using a milling machine or laser. LPKF will also be presenting a system that enables reliable through-hole plating using galvanic and chemical processes.
