Feinhütte Halsbrücke, one of the oldest smelters in Europe and Germany's only tin and lead smelter, will invest € 10 million in sustainability and modernization.
The investment package is intended to help accelerate progress and sustainability and strengthen the traditional smelting site in Halsbrücke in the long term. According to Managing Director Tobias Patzig, it includes plant modernizations for the efficient smelting of complex metal residues and the expansion of renewable energy generation plants. Working conditions are also to be further optimized. The raw materials strategy of the federal government and the Free State of Saxony serves as a guideline for the company's further development. The aim is to increase the resilience of supply chains and secure the supply of raw materials for Germany. Metals are at the beginning of industrial value creation and therefore have a decisive influence on downstream economic sectors. The aim is to support future technologies such as electromobility and digitalization as well as the energy transition.
