Advantest, a supplier of automated test systems for the semiconductor industry, is evaluating its high-speed SoC testers with the RTP 16 GHz bandwidth model of the Rohde & Schwarz high-performance oscilloscope. At the Chiyoda-ku (Tokyo, Japan) based company, RTP is part of a mass production quality improvement process. It is intended to significantly advance the updating of the verification environment in line with the latest requirements.
The R&S RTP High-Performance Oscilloscope offers real-time processing with an internally developed low-distortion high-performance A/D converter, analog front-end and highly integrated logic ASIC for the back-end developed exclusively for the oscilloscope. Despite its compact design, the device achieves extremely accurate measurements at unprecedented speeds and a fast rise time of 33 ps. It offers a powerful and highly stable jitter analysis function with the Rohde & Schwarz separation algorithm.
According to Noriaki Fukushima (SoC Test Business Headquarters), the introduction of the oscilloscope and the establishment of a final inspection line will enable Advantest to prepare its production for growing demand. By replacing old production technology, flexibility has been gained. In future, Advantest will use the RTP164 from Rhode & Schwarz in other areas. With its solutions in the areas of Test & Measurement, Technology Systems and Networks & Cybersecurity, the Munich-based technology group sees itself as a pioneer of a secure and networked world.
