In times of increasing discussion about artificial intelligence, its opportunities and risks, a new publication from Piper is causing a stir: The American futurist, non-fiction author and computer scientist Raymond Kurzweil has written a new book, 'The Singularity is nearer: When we merge with AI'.
It is a sequel to his book 'The singularity is nearer: When Humans Transcend Biology' (2005) and deals with the controversial author's favorite topics: the change and improvement of human society through artificial intelligence - be it in work, education or health. Kurzweil is enthusiastic about the opportunities offered by AI and creates visions of the future that excite some readers, frighten others - but leave no one cold. The title of the translation to be published by Piper is appropriately bold: 'The Next Stage of Evolution: When Man and Machine Become One'.
It will be published on November 28 this year as a hardcover (496 pages, ISBN 978-3492073066, price: €24). The book will be discussed in more detail in PLUS in 2025.
