The Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS has founded the 'AI Assurance and Assessments' department. Under the leadership of Dr. Maximilian Poretschkin, the new department will support companies in the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in accordance with international standards and the EU AI Act.
Physicist Dr Maximilian Poretschkin and his team recognized the trustworthiness and security of AI systems as an important issue in the digitalized world of work and life even before the introduction of the AI regulation. Through research and strategic partnerships, they have built up an internationally recognized center of excellence. They develop methods for safeguarding and risk assessment of AI systems, AI test criteria and test tools. The aim is to support companies in the implementation of the AI regulation and the development of AI governance, for example in AI testing, safeguarding methods and software solutions for the automation of AI systems. The offering is aimed at companies of various sizes and industries, including finance, law, media, healthcare, retail and the public sector. The team works closely with other departments at Fraunhofer IAIS that develop AI applications.
