Kemptron Oy has expanded its SMT production in Lahti, Finland, to include a line with systems from Panasonic Factory Solutions. In addition to the NPM-GP/L stencil printer, automatic placement machines from the NPM-W2 series are also being used. Installation and commissioning were carried out by SMT House, which will also support the manufacturer in northern Germany in future.

The technical focus is on integrating the production line into external warehouse management systems. Kemptron uses the PanaCIM-EE line management software for this, which connects existing systems such as MES, ERP and material logistics. This allows production and inventory data to be exchanged across processes. This is intended to stabilize processes for planned production in small batch sizes with frequent changeovers.

The stencil printer supports an automated model change and transfers status information directly to the central system. According to the supplier, the placement machines process up to 77,000 components per hour and incorporate inspection and dosing steps. The material supply is order-related in real time. Early warning mechanisms and extended feeder management are also part of the concept.

Kemptron produces assemblies, transformers and DC fast loaders in Lahti, among other things. The new line will increase the level of automation and expand system integration. The aim is to achieve a more stable supply situation while at the same time increasing flexibility.
