Pricer AB, a globally established provider of digital solutions for the retail sector, has commissioned Europe's top-selling EMS provider with the series production of electronic shelf labels (ESL): Zollner Elektronik AG is setting up an automated production line for this purpose. Delivery of the products, also known as digital price tags, is scheduled to begin in the first half of next year.
The Swedish company has opted for an additional production partner to complement the existing production facilities in China and Thailand. This was deliberately sought in Europe in order to achieve greater customer proximity in this important market. This should reduce delivery times and increase flexibility. Retail demand for digital store concepts is growing, "With this decision, we not only want to mitigate the effects of geopolitical uncertainties and dependence on a few suppliers, but also continuously improve customer satisfaction," says Helena Holmgren, President and CEO of Pricer. "Our strategic goal of producing where our customers are will improve our competitiveness in the market. It also helps to reduce our carbon footprint. With this in mind, we have paid particular attention to ensuring that the manufacture of our products can be automated."
