On July 17, 2024, Munich-based software company Luminovo announced a new partnership with product carbon footprint solutions provider Sluicebox. Together, the two companies are linking electronics manufacturing and design with new sustainability requirements by providingcarbon footprint estimates not only for individual electronic components, but also for printed circuit boards and entire assemblies.
The goal of this partnership is to simplify and reduce the cost of accessing importantCO2 emissions data. The combination of Sluicebox's data for standard components with Luminovo's model for the printed circuit board provides customers with insights into the environmental impact of their products and helps to improve their sustainability assessment, says Sebastian Schaal, Managing Director of Luminovo.
