The collaboration between Lackwerke Peters and adhesives specialist Delo has been extended for another year: the equipment and materials manufacturer from Windach near Munich is providing Peters with a device system consisting of a lamp head and control unit for UV LED curing.
The UV surface lamp from Delo enables the paint systems used to be cured in a matter of seconds using LED technology thanks to homogeneous exposure. In the Peters laboratory, the LTwin-Cure DSL 1602 FLZ/400 thick-film coating from the Elpeguard series is cured with it. "The Delo device is not only an important factor for processing this protective coating, but also for the further development of future technologies such as inkjet solder resist for digital manufacturing," says Stefan Schröder, Product Manager Protective Coatings at Peters. From the paint manufacturer's point of view, the future belongs to LED curing in many respects. The coating systems used here are solvent-free and the application consumes far less energy than conventional systems. "And there is less heat stress," emphasizes Dirk Kall, Group Leader Research and Development in the Peters laboratory.
A three-person Delo delegation used the visit to Peters to present further developments in appliance technology. The aim of the two owner-managed family companies, it was said at the meeting, is to meet customer requirements and further expand the competence axis that has been created.
