Zollner Elektronik has successfully completed the full takeover of the Thai company Bluechips Microhouse. The EMS service provider headquartered in Chiang Mai will thus become part of the German group of companies.

With this takeover, Zollner, headquartered in Zandt, Upper Palatinate, is driving forward its global expansion with a strategic focus on the key regions of Europe, North and Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region. The aim is to dovetail closely with existing Asian locations. Chiang Mai is seen as an important building block in the expanded production network. Investments in technological innovations and production facilities in the areas of module and device production, electronic assemblies, cable assembly and sheet metal processing are to follow, supplemented by the construction of a new clean room (ISO class 7) with an area of around 600 m².

According to Thomas Kiefl, who has been managing the Bluechips site in Chiang Mai since May this year, Bluechips is set to grow until 2040 and beyond as part of the corporate strategy. He expects the global production network to be strengthened and "new scope for development, exchange and joint projects."
