Trade fair congress for additive technologies postponed: presence character more important than May date

Rapid.Tech 3D in Erfurt will be postponed from the planned date at the beginning of May 2021 to June 22 and 23, 2021 and will be held as a congress event with an accompanying exhibition. This decision was made by Messe Erfurt together with the advisory board. "In the current situation, it is difficult for exhibitors to position themselves in a binding manner. We are taking this into account with the postponement to early summer," explains Michael Kynast, Managing Director of Messe Erfurt GmbH.

All planned forums and the exhibition will focus on the guiding theme of sustainability. In addition to the tried-and-tested sessions AM Science; Automotive & Mobility; Aerospace; Medical, Dental & Orthopaedic Technology; Software, Processes, Design and Tool, Pattern & Mold Making, there are two new topics on the agenda in 2021. The AM in Construction & Architecture forum will focus in particular on the advantages of generative processes for the realization of complex shapes and resource- and cost-saving construction with a high degree of flexibility. The "News from AM" forum will offer a glimpse into the future of additive manufacturing. The focus will be on processes and materials that go beyond the current state of the art, but are already ready for use. Adaptive processes for electronics production can also be found in Erfurt - 3D-MID had planned to take part on the original May date.

Participants of the Rapid.Tech 3D Congress can attend both the live event on site at the CongressCenter of Messe Erfurt and via online stream. As last year, the 3D Pioneers Challenge will once again be held as a purely digital event. The international design competition for additive manufacturing processes once again invites pioneers in 3D printing to present their pioneering products and technologies. The Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society is once again donating the prize money of €35,000. This makes the 3D Pioneers Challenge one of the most highly endowed design awards for innovations in 3D printing worldwide.
