The Umicore Group is merging its Electroplating (EP) and Thin Film Products (TFP) business units into the new Metal Deposition Solutions (MDS) business unit. It develops and markets products for high-quality electroplating and vacuum (precious metal) coating processes.
The merger of the business units, which previously operated largely independently, was a logical step since both offer solutions for the semiconductor sector. "The overlap of joint customers in this segment in particular is considerable," says Thomas Engert, Senior Vice President Metal Deposition Solutions. Coordinated sales with holistic consulting and solutions that build on each other make sense. The name change of the business unit will have no impact on existing business relationships: all relevant business data, such as company name, contact and bank details or product names, will remain unchanged.
