Dr. Gunther Kegel has been re-elected for a second, three-year term as President of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI).
According to Kegel, his re-election and the great trust placed in him "confirms the Board of Directors and myself to bring the association even closer to the major socio-political debates and to further intensify the dialog with politics and society." The ZVEI President emphasized that the electrical and digital industry is increasingly moving into a key position and is setting the technological pace for a decarbonized industrial society.
Electrification and digitalization are best suited to achieving the ambitious climate targets in Germany and Europe. "Our members are active in the sectors relevant to climate protection," said Kegel, emphasizing the coordinating role of the association. "This gives us a good overview of the climate policy challenges as a whole and enables us to make well-founded proposals that contribute positively to the climate targets."
Dr. Gunther Kegel has been President of the ZVEI since 2020. Prior to that, he was a member of the ZVEI Board for 22 years. From 2007 to 2019, he was also Chairman of the ZVEI Automation Association. Kegel is also Chairman of the Board of the electronics company Pepperl+Fuchs.
Rada Rodriguez (Signify), Cedrik Neike (Siemens) and Frank Stührenberg (Phoenix Contact) were confirmed as Vice Presidents. Dr. Barbara Frei (Schneider Electric), Matthias Altendorf (Endress+Hauser), Daniel Hager (Hager Group), Philip Harting (Harting) and Andreas Pfannenberg (Pfannenberg) were elected to the Executive Committee. The ZVEI Board of Directors was also newly elected during the delegates' meeting.
