From scissor hardener to coating specialist - Ernst Ebbinghaus laid the foundation stone for today's Ebbinghaus Verbund GmbH & Co KG in Solingen on March 21, 1923. The great-grandfather of today's company owner Marco Ebbinghaus initially geared the scissor hardening shop to the needs of the Solingen cutlery industry, but the product range quickly expanded to include surface protection.
The first important technological step was spray coating. Later, the production program was expanded to include surface protection for bicycle and motorcycle frames and their rims. In the following decades, the company experienced economic challenges and constant technological progress in surface technology for the coating of materials and products. Today, Ebbinghaus Verbund Management- und Dienstleistungs GmbH & Co KG is headquartered in Solingen, including its R&D technical center, and operates production plants in Hagenbach and Graz, Austria. The product spectrum ranges from KTL coating, powder coating and wet painting to duplex processes, galvanizing and PVC coating through to cleaning and paint stripping.
