One has a huge product portfolio of C-parts and fasteners, the other is known throughout Germany for its high level of engineering expertise in fastening and assembly technology - and the third is widely regarded as the expert in the field of drawing parts: At the beginning of March 2022, KVT-Fastening GmbH and BRUMA Schraub- und Drehtechnik GmbH and Bossard Deutschland GmbH will operate under the name Bossard Deutschland GmbH.
"Bossard" because the result of the merger, like the three individual companies, is part of the international Bossard Group headquartered in Zug/Switzerland. As before, the managing directors are Florian Beer and Dr. Frank Hilgers - the latter reports as Area Manager Bossard North Europe to Dr. Daniel Bossard, CEO of the Bossard Group with over 2,500 employees at 80 locations worldwide.
Always the right connection
Strengthening the tried and tested and seizing new opportunities. The merger took place in several steps and was carefully prepared: The Bossard Group had already acquired the German KVT-Fastening GmbH in 2012 and shortly afterwards also established Bossard Deutschland GmbH at the same location in Illerrieden in order to provide Bossard Switzerland's existing German customers with a contact from their own country.
BRUMA Schraub- und Drehtechnik GmbH, based in Velbert, has also been part of the Bossard Group since 2019; since then, Florian Beer has been Managing Director of the three companies - and is organizing the merger with the teams in Illerrieden and Velbert as well as the support of the Swiss "mother", which will become official on 1 March 2022 with the joint name "Bossard Deutschland GmbH": "A joint ERP system, a joint e-shop, the integration of processes and, of course, the joint brand identity - our claim is not only with regard to our product and service portfolio: always find the right connection."
Florian Beer cites concrete figures. With the merger, Bossard Deutschland GmbH has, among other things
- more than 200 employees
- over 150 quality brands in the product portfolio with well over 140,000 items
- around 25,000 customers, with a dynamic growth trend
Expert knowledge for the customer's success
"The whole is more than the sum of its parts - rarely has this oft-quoted phrase applied as accurately as it does to the merger of our companies," says Florian Beer, referring to the "real added value" for customers. This is because they receive the service portfolio and the specific quality of three leading companies in fastening and assembly technology under one roof. What is important to the Managing Director: "Even though we will be called Bossard Deutschland GmbH in the future, the well-known core of KVT-Fastening GmbH and BRUMA Schraub- und Drehtechnik GmbH, which has been valued by our customers for many years, will remain, supplemented by the Bossard portfolio & services".
A clear division whose interfaces create smooth connections: In Illerrieden, the focus is on the product portfolio in the areas of press-fit technology, riveting technology, functional elements, screws, DIN parts and thread inserts, supplemented by the appropriate processing technology from simple manual setting tools to fully automated systems ("System Sell").
The Velbert site becomes a competence center for drawing parts. "When it comes to special screws of all kinds as well as high-quality turned parts and screw connection elements, we can answer the question "What do you really need?" perfectly for the customer. They receive the fastener either from our product range or as a drawing part - and know that it is the best and most cost-effective solution for them."
More than just screws
The range of services offered by Bossard Germany, supplemented by various engineering services, is the same regardless of product and location: Supporting the customer in terms of joint performance, total cost of ownership ("TCO"), quality in solving the technical requirement and delivery capability.
The experts provide support for all these fastening and connection technology issues: from the analysis of requirements by the Assembly Technology Expert (ATE) services to individual optimization proposals for the design of the connection ("Design to Cost") to reliable availability through automatic delivery of B and C parts via the intelligent warehouse logistics system Smart Factory Logistics (SFL) to the place of processing (Last Mile Management).
E-mobility, mechanical engineering, medical technology, transportation, the broad field of robotics and many other sectors: According to Florian Beer, Bossard Deutschland GmbH scores particularly well with its "new concentrated expertise" in areas where higher requirements and new material combinations challenge fastening technology and constantly require new technical solutions.
