In September 2021, Alfa Laval will open a new service center in Frechen, near Cologne. It will be one of the largest for plate heat exchangers in the world. In addition, the technically advanced and particularly sustainable site can recycle almost 100 percent of the water used. The Service Center is intended for customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in France and the Benelux countries.
The 5,200 m² Service Center has three times the capacity of the second largest Alfa Laval site of its kind in Japan. A fully automated cleaning system for heat exchanger plates enables the shortest possible service times for customers. In addition, 95 percent of the waste water produced during reconditioning is treated: Fresh water is only added to compensate for natural evaporation. As part of its sustainability strategy, Alfa Laval has set itself the goal of recycling all wastewater generated in all of the company's processes by 2030.
"Service for existing installations is crucial to developing partnerships with our customers. With the combination of availability, high service levels and sustainable processes, we offer a strong proposition that few of our competitors can match," says Joakim Vilson, President of Global Sales and Service at Alfa Laval. "In addition, plate heat exchangers have a positive impact on the environment when properly cleaned and maintained, as they avoidCO2 emissions when operated under optimal conditions."
