Alfa Laval's climate protection targets confirmed by the Science Based Targets Initiative

Alfa Laval has received independent verification and endorsement from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), joining over 4,000 companies worldwide that are leading the way in the zero-carbon transformation by setting climate science-based emissions reduction targets. The initiative promotes best practice in setting science-based targets and will review Alfa Laval's progress towards its carbon neutral goals on an annual basis.

Alfa Laval is committed to being carbon neutral by 2030 and achieving a science-based net zero target by 2050. These short and long-term emission reduction targets have now been confirmed by the SBTi. This means that Alfa Laval can ensure that its climate measures are in line with the latest scientific findings. By reducing its ownCO2 emissions throughout the value chain, Alfa Laval is helping to achieve the 1.5 degree target set out in the Paris Agreement.

Anna Celsing, Head of Sustainability at Alfa Laval, is proud of this confirmation, which is an important milestone in achieving Alfa Laval's sustainability goals. She says: "SBTi provides a shared, robust and science-based understanding of net zero that clarifies and reassures us that our targets are aligned with climate science. We have been working hard since 2019, the year we announced our goal to become carbon neutral. Now we have the roadmap; and our customers can be confident that we will meet their ambitions and targets."
