The Verband für die Oberflächenveredelung von Aluminium e. V. (VOA) now offers online training on the subject of "anodizing" for all interested parties in five consecutive topic blocks. This means: practical training plus time savings for VOA members and interested parties.
"We are living in times when we are going online to meet the needs of the surface finishing industry and interested professional groups for qualified training and further education. We have revised the learning objectives of the previous Eloxal I and Eloxal II seminars and redesigned them into an online seminar that takes place over three days in five blocks of around two hours each. For the first time, the focus is on quality assurance. The new format thus meets the wishes of the participants and meets the need for professional exchange, at least online," says Dr. Alexa A. Becker, Managing Director of the VOA.
The VOA anodizing seminar, which will take place as a video conference from 3 to 5 November 2020, will provide a comprehensive overview of all process steps in the field of anodizing. What is new is that there will be a block for each individual work step, which will first lay the foundations and then precisely address the errors that can occur during the specific work step in everyday life, as well as prevention and troubleshooting. The seminar will pay particular attention to quality assurance and the documentation of quality management with regard to the international QUALANOD quality mark, which is awarded by the VOA as a globally valid quality mark if the extensive requirements are met. This seminar structure enables both semi-skilled employees and qualified specialists to view the individual process steps in a condensed form from different perspectives.
After an introduction to the "basic knowledge of aluminium", there is an in-depth and practical look at the individual work steps and error management of contacting, cleaning and degreasing, pickling, rinsing and decapping, anodizing, pre-anodizing and hard anodizing, electrolytic dyeing, dip dyeing and compacting. Each block concludes with quality assurance and testing in accordance with QUALANOD specifications. Participants will have sufficient time to ask questions and discuss technical issues. The VOA has succeeded in attracting well-known representatives from VOA member companies as speakers who are able to provide the basics and incorporate their extensive wealth of experience into the learning objectives of the seminar. In addition, these experts are prepared to contribute their extensive specialist knowledge from day-to-day practice. In this way, all employees with different backgrounds are made enthusiastic about quality management so that no mistakes are made or, should one occur, they can react immediately and effectively in terms of sensible error management.
"Particularly against the backdrop of quality assurance measures based on the latest scientific and research findings and in order to achieve complete customer satisfaction with ever faster production processes, employee training is becoming increasingly important. It is important to remain curious in order to take on the new challenges of the industry - even in times of Corona. We have made a significant contribution for all interested parties, are going online and look forward to welcoming participants," says Dr. Becker.
