Alfa Laval opened its service center for plate heat exchangers in Frechen near Cologne at the beginning of September. The 5,200 m² site is designed like a factory and is also particularly environmentally friendly. The high degree of automation means that customers can benefit from significantly shorter service times. A zero liquid discharge process is used to treat almost 100 percent of the process water. The global market leader for plate heat exchangers offers reconditioning for all makes and brands across all manufacturers.
Regular reconditioning is essential for optimum performance and a long service life of the plate heat exchangers. With proper cleaning and maintenance, the devices also avoid CO2 emissions. The new Alfa Laval Service Center in Frechen carries out the entire reconditioning process in one place, as if on an assembly line, without interruptions. Fully automated systems such as a liquid nitrogen system or a chemical bath system set standards worldwide with their effectiveness and safety standards.
A waste water treatment plant developed by Alfa Laval allows 95 percent of the waste water produced during reconditioning to be treated and returned to the cycle. As part of its global sustainability strategy, Alfa Laval has set itself the goal of recycling all of the wastewater generated in all of the company's processes by 2030. The range of manufacturer-independent services also serves to protect the environment, as a single point of contact for the maintenance and repair of their heat exchangers saves customers time and effort. Plenty of space and state-of-the-art technology in the new Service Center make this possible.
