Deburring Expo gets off to a promising start

Despite the coronavirus restrictions that are still in place, the Swabian trade fair organizer FairXperts took the plunge and hosted Deburring Expo as an in-person event. Today, October 12, 2021, was the first day of the trade fair in Karlsruhe. Company boss Hartmut Herdin: "You can organize a congress virtually or as a hybrid event, but at a trade fair in the capital goods sector, personal dialogue about the respective task is an essential criterion. That's why a trade fair is almost impossible to organize digitally."

Herdin's opinion was confirmed in the run-up to the trade fair, which is held every two years, with 105 exhibitors registering. This was roughly the same level as in 2017, when Deburring Expo was held for the penultimate time with 117 exhibitors. Herdin: "Under the current circumstances, we are satisfied with this result." Around 1,200 visitors had registered online by the start of the trade fair, and Herdin is hoping for 1,200 to 1,400. Around 2,100 visitors attended the 2019 event.

The trade fair focuses on deburring technologies and the production of precision surfaces. These are complemented by the three theme parks "Cleaning after deburring", "AM Parts Finishing" (post-processing of additively manufactured metallic components). The third topic, "Automated deburring with industrial robots", will address the increasingly topical issue of automation in many areas of industry.

The event will end on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
