With effect from January 1, 2025, Christoph Matheis, former Managing Director of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e. V. (DGO) and Managing Director of the Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e. V. (ZVO), has handed over the full management of the DGO to Dr. Daniel Meyer.
Christoph Matheis has accompanied the work of the DGO Executive Board for many years as DGO Managing Director: from time to time temporarily for a few months and then continuously from March 1, 2015 until December 31, 2024. At the DGO Executive Board meeting on November 12, 2024 in Niedernberg, Christoph Matheis was bid farewell by the DGO Executive Board. Chairman Dr. Martin Metzner paid tribute to his commitment: "In recent years, Christoph Matheis has always been fully committed to the interests of the DGO. He played a key role in putting the DGO's finances on a solid footing and paving the way for this continuously, very successfully and over the long term. He was always a valuable companion and advisor to the Executive Board, whose proposals were well thought out and characterized by foresight. His sense of respectful interaction with DGO members and committees also had a significant influence on the work of the Board of Directors. Christoph Matheis expressed his thanks for the trust placed in him and offered to act as a point of contact for DGO matters as required.
Dr. Daniel Meyer was initially project manager of the BMBF funding measure "InnoEMat" at the DGO since June 2017, became technical managing director in 2021 and has been the sole managing director since the beginning of the year.
