The 16th FMB - Supplier Fair for Mechanical Engineering will take place from November 4 to 6, 2020 at the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center.
Every machine component has a surface. These surfaces often need to be specially protected, treated or refined - using processes such as painting, powder coating, galvanizing, zinc coating, blasting...
The machine manufacturers either have the appropriate equipment or work together with surface technology service providers. This year, for the first time, the FMB will be showing which trends are current in this area and which efficient partners are available for cooperation: Surface technology is a new focus of FMB 2020.
The organizer is thus taking a logical step. Christian Enßle, Head of Cluster FMB: "We have noticed that more and more exhibitors are primarily offering surface technology services - whether exclusively or as part of their portfolio. Now they have a better platform for their trade fair presence and we are also targeting new, potential exhibitors."
The trade fair has several target groups in mind. Manufacturers of systems for painting and powder coating, for example, can present their range to a qualified audience at the FMB. Manufacturers of consumables such as bath chemicals and peripherals such as filter and exhaust air systems are also addressed.
The FMB organizers have a particular focus on the numerous service providers in the extended region who offer surface technology services - from pre- and corrosion protection treatment to "classic" processes such as painting and powder coating to sophisticated processes such as plasma coating. Christian Enßle: "The spectrum here is large, the providers are highly qualified, but the market is confusing. We want to create visibility and also bring supply and demand together in this area of the supplier industry."
The trade fair can score points with its special concept: "We offer exhibitors a complete package including furniture, catering and a marketing package. All they have to do is bring their exhibits and information materials. This is a real plus, especially for smaller companies with limited marketing resources." Another plus and a real added value for exhibitors and visitors: surface technology will also be a new focus of the lecture program, which will present current trends in the individual subject areas in more detail.
