Foundry industry seeks young talent

New alloys, digitalization, additive manufacturing and electromobility are topics that are currently keeping the die casting industry very busy. No wonder that a lot of research is being carried out in these areas and innovative solutions and new approaches are being sought. With the Euroguss Talent Award, NürnbergMesse would like to recognize outstanding theses and the young talents of tomorrow. Topics can be innovations, improvements or new applications in die casting and the entire value chain. Theses can be submitted until the end of October. The winners will be officially announced at Euroguss 2020, which will take place at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg from 14 to 16 January 2020.
Regardless of whether they are Bachelor's or Master's graduates, anyone can submit the topic of their work in the form of an abstract in German or English for the Euroguss Talent Award. The award is intended to recognize young talent in the field of die casting. The requirement is that the work must be completed at the time of submission. In addition, applicants need a letter of recommendation from a university, college, research institute or company. The closing date for entries is October 31, 2019.
An international jury of experts, consisting of representatives from research and industry, will select the best work. The winners will be informed by December 6, 2019 at the latest, and the official announcement and award ceremony will then take place at Euroguss 2020 in Nuremberg. In addition to flights, hotel and trade fair tickets, the winning package includes an iPad and Apple Pencil. In addition, the award-winning graduates will be able to present their work to the trade audience at Euroguss in the trade fair forum and will also have the opportunity to publish a specialist article about their work on the industry platform Spotlightmetal.
