Free instructional videos from Betz-Chrom

The number of trainees in the industry is falling and at the same time the quality of applicants' education is being criticized. This makes didactically professional and up-to-date training all the more important. In collaboration with a tutor, Betz-Chrom GmbH from Gräfeling in Bavaria has produced instructional videos for training as a surface technician, which it is now making available free of charge. In this way, Betz Chrom also offers trainers from other companies in the industry the opportunity to incorporate central and compactly prepared training content into their lessons or to recommend it to their trainees to consolidate their specialist knowledge.

The YouTube videos are each only a few minutes long and cover topics ranging from Faraday's laws and layer thickness calculations to current density, surface and volume calculations, determining the concentration of electrolyte solutions and determining oxidation numbers. Over 20 such videos are freely available on the YouTube channel of the specialist for functional surface technology with applications in the fields of hard chrome, chromium(III), electroless nickel and nickel & hard chrome.

In its efforts to improve the quality of training in the industry, the company is supported by Leuze-Verlag, which will soon embed the videos on its training platform "Galvanotechnik for you" at www.gtfy.de in order to provide even more comprehensive support for training and further education in the industry with a mixture of free and additional fee-based offers. Galvanotechnik for you offers moderately priced e-learning courses on topics such as chemistry, corrosion and electroplating processes.
