GfK manufacturers increase planning reliability with two new release agents from Chem-Trend

Chem-Trend, a global leader in the development and production of high-performance release agents, cleaning granules and other specialized process chemicals, launches Chemlease® 5127 & Chemlease® 5128, two new release agents for GRP applications. The two silicone-free, solvent-based universal release agents combine proven technologies with ease of use.

"The cost efficiency of product lines is more important today than ever before. With Chemlease® 5127 and Chemlease® 5128, we are launching modern release agents that help to meet current and future requirements with regard to the careful use of resources in glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) applications. At the same time, with our Chemlease® brand, users are relying on a product that has already been tried and tested over many years and creates demonstrably high added value," says Tomasz Krause, European Business Director (EBD) Composites at Chem-Trend.

Conventional release agents from Chemlease® guarantee quality

Chemlease® 5127 and Chemlease® 5128 are silicone-free, single-use release agents that offer high quality in the production of parts from fiber-reinforced plastics at a calculable cost. While Chemlease® 5127 is particularly suitable for the production of components with epoxy resins, Chemlease® 5128 is the product of choice for the molding of polyester components and the production of components with and without gelcoats.

Areas of application for Chemlease® 5127 and Chemlease® 5128

Both the softer Chemlease® 5127 and the harder Chemlease® 5128 are universal liquid waxes. Both are versatile in the field of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composites and are particularly suitable for small series production. Possible areas of application include the production of components for products such as boats, pools, bathtubs and shower trays. In addition, the production of large-format components such as façade panels in architecture is also a potential area of application for both products.

Chemlease® 5127 and Chemlease® 5128 support wet adhesion in the production of components with gelcoats. This prevents premature demolding and the formation of fish eyes. Chemlease® 5128 is particularly suitable for polishing the mold to a high gloss. The products are now available throughout Europe.
