Hanover to become the world's first 5G exhibition center

Deutsche Messe wants to position itself as a showcase for the world of tomorrow with a quantum leap towards the future: It intends to be the first and so far only trade fair company in the world to equip its exhibition grounds with a comprehensive 5G infrastructure. Deutsche Messe is thus gradually developing the 100-hectare exhibition grounds into a highly innovative multifunctional campus that will be available 365 days a year as a testing ground for 5G real-time use cases.
A new congress and trade fair format completes Deutsche Messe's 5G offensive: the 5G CMM Expo congress trade fair will become the leading annual event for the key 5G technology. CMM stands for Connected Mobile Machines. The first congress on the topic will be held in October 2019. The first trade fair will then be launched in fall 2020. The 5G CMM Expo will present the full range of applications of the 5G standard using tangible use cases for all connected mobile machines in public spaces, in various sectors of the economy and for end consumers. The exhibitors will showcase hardware, software and services as building blocks for solutions and systems in the areas of cloud, mobile platforms, system integration, application software and IT security technology, communication technology, automation technology for mobile machines and embedded systems for mobile applications. On the visitor side, the 5G CMM Expo is aimed at specialists and company managers from a wide range of sectors - from the automotive and supplier industry, logistics, smart city, energy industry, building automation, security technology and agricultural engineering industry to e-commerce, healthcare, food industry, construction machinery, textile industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. What they all have in common is that they see new opportunities and potential for their fields of application in 5G.
