IMO provides excellent training

Tina Schroth completed her training at IMO Oberflächentechnik GmbH in Königsbach-Stein with a double award: she was the best surface coater of 2021 at the Karlsruhe Chamber of Crafts and at the same time won the Baden-Württemberg state competition. "On behalf of the management and the entire IMO workforce, we congratulate Ms. Schroth on this outstanding success," says IMO Managing Director Bernd Müller proudly. He presented her with her special gift of choice, a new iPhone, and explained: "It is particularly important to me to challenge and promote committed and talented employees within the company. Hard work and good grades are rewarded. We will therefore be happy to support Ms. Schroth in her further professional development."

On November 6, the 25-year-old received the official award at the state awards ceremony in Stuttgart, which included a dinner and a visit to a musical. Despite all the hype, the young colleague remains very modest and explains her success by saying that she came into contact with electroplating technology as a little girl through her father and practically grew up with it. "I'm naturally very happy about the award, the reward and the opportunities that IMO offers me," she says.

Naturally, personnel officer Steven Recchia, who recruits the trainees and supervises them together with the trainers, is also delighted. At the same time, he is not surprised, because he knows: "Together with our trainees, we create a solid foundation to qualify them for the next steps on their educational path. This not only includes providing state-of-the-art teaching materials, but also trust in the young people and their abilities." IMO values its employees as people and coworkers. They are the most valuable asset of the internationally successful company. Their innovative strength and creativity have helped IMO to achieve its leading position in electroplating technology. Training as a surface coater is particularly close to IMO's heart, as it represents the core activity of the electroplating specialist.

He considers the future prospects in this profession to be very good, as electroplated layers are involved in everything from spectacle frames and printed circuit boards to coated elements in cars. Surface coaters use various processes to produce metallic coatings on technical components for cars, cell phones or electrical appliances.

In this way, they improve corrosion protection or achieve higher electrical conductivity. For example, they ensure that a car airbag deploys just as reliably as a new car, even years later.
