Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG is one of the world's leading suppliers of vacuum technology. In mid-May, as part of "Choose France 2023", the summit for foreign investors in France, the company announced a seven-year investment plan worth 75 million euros for its site in Annecy.
CEO Dr. Britta Giesen had the honor of attending the summit in Versailles on 15 May at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. The investor meeting brings together hundreds of executives from major international companies every year. The aim is to encourage investment in France. "Our investment plan will serve to modernize and digitalize our production in order to continue our growth," said Dr. Britta Giesen. "We want to double the business activity of our French subsidiary with a sales target of 600 million euros by 2030 and create 100 to 150 additional jobs," explained the CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum.
Over the same period, the Group intends to accelerate its course to reduceCO2 emissions in Scope 1 and 2 to net zero by 2030. "Reducing ourCO2 emissions should also motivate employees, suppliers and customers to develop innovative solutions for environmentally friendly technologies," added Dr. Giesen.
Pfeiffer Vacuum's location in Annecy has the advantage that the majority of employees live nearby. "This allows us to reduce commuting to a minimum and encourage the use of public transport. Today, 20 percent of our employees already walk or cycle to work. Some even no longer own a car," said Guillaume Kreziak, Managing Director of Pfeiffer Vacuum SAS, the Group's French subsidiary.
