Reunion of the electroplating technicians of the graduating class of 1969

On a sunny weekend in October, the former students of the technical school for electroplating technology from the graduating class of 1969 met in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
One item on the program was a tour of the technical school in Rektor-Klaus-Straße, a branch of the Schwäbisch Gmünd Industrial School.

Teacher Holger Wolf guided the group through their former place of work, where a lot has changed over the past 50 years. At the time when the former students attended the technical school, the technical school was still affiliated to the University of Applied Sciences for Design. At that time, training to become an electroplating technician was similar to a degree course and was divided into four semesters.
The basics of electroplating have hardly changed, but the technical equipment and processes are of course state of the art.
The meeting was organized by Mr Elser, who himself was employed decades ago as a lecturer and assistant at the Werkkunstschule at the university, as the technical college was then called.
