The institutes for steel construction, solid construction, road construction and construction research at RWTH Aachen University have founded a new Center Building and Infrastructure Engineering (CBI) with a total of eleven companies as members. One of the members is the polymer and coating specialist Diamant Metallplastic from Mönchengladbach.
The institutes for steel construction, solid construction, construction research and road engineering at RWTH Aachen University are working in the CBI on the topics of building construction, bridge construction and infrastructure.
The Building and Infrastructure Engineering Center's fields of activity are the research, development and market launch of innovative, tailor-made, application-optimized materials, construction methods, processes and concepts - also in connection with the digitalization of structural engineering and transport infrastructure construction. The CBI also focuses on simplifying the transition to regulations and approvals so that innovations can be implemented more quickly.
The CBI was launched on 1.1.2019. Since then, eleven companies have been working towards a common goal: more innovation, research and development for the construction industry.
After many years of cooperation with RWTH Aachen University, the Mönchengladbach-based polymer and coating specialist Diamant Metallplastic is also strengthening the CBI on the RWTH Aachen Campus as a founder.
The so-called "injection pad" was developed two years ago in a joint project with the Institute for Steel Construction at RWTH Aachen University: An innovative, fast, safe and one hundred percent force-fit solution for gap compensation in the off-shore area.
