Safe storage of hazardous substances in work areas

Keeping hazardous substances close to the workplace is common practice in chemical laboratories in electroplating plants. If the chemicals are toxic, flammable or harmful to health, they must be stored in safety cabinets. The new safety cabinets in the Proline series from Cemo offer all-round protection, are type-tested and meet all current standards.

In addition, the latest edition of DIN EN 14470-1:2023-09 has already been taken into account. With external dimensions of 196 x 120 x 60 cm (H x W x D), they offer an interior space of 157 x 105 x 43 cm and weigh approx. 450 kg together with the three standard shelves and a base tray with perforated metal insert. The professional cabinets withstood the test firing for over 107 minutes in the fire chamber test. In addition to good thermal protection, they offer lockable doors that close automatically in the event of a fire. To extract flammable or harmful vapors, the cabinets should be connected to a technical ventilation system. In individual cases, they can also be operated without ventilation if they are connected to an equipotential bonding (earthing) to prevent static charging. The cabinet and drip tray are approved for containers with a capacity of up to 30 l; the load capacity of the individual shelves is 75 kg.
