Top 100 goes to Tesvolt

Tesvolt, a manufacturer of electricity storage systems for trade and industry, has been named "Innovator of the Year" in the TOP 100 competition for the second time. The company took first place in its size category of 51 to 200 employees in the leading innovation competition for German SMEs. The 24-member jury was impressed by the high level of innovation and the innovative technology of the Tesvolt energy storage system.

Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, Scientific Director of the competition: "The competition was very tough again this year. It was impressive to see how innovative SMEs have dealt with the changes and challenges of our time. We selected the best from the large number of applicants." The jury awarded Tesvolt the top score of A+ in the four categories "Innovation-promoting top management", "Climate of innovation", "Innovative processes and organization" and "External orientation". "For me, innovations are revolutionary ideas that make our world a better place. Especially now, when many countries want to become independent of Russian gas, innovation in the field of renewable energies is more important than ever," says Daniel Hannemann, co-founder and CEO of Tesvolt. "Most innovations come from spontaneous ideas - and then you need the courage and the right environment to turn the idea into a market-ready product. At Tesvolt, anyone can be an innovator thanks to our agile organizational structure. I am extremely proud that together we have once again managed to become Innovator of the Year." Four years ago, Tesvolt opted for an agile form of organization. Since then, the company has dispensed with traditional hierarchies. All employees receive comprehensive training on the methods of the agile organizational form. "We make decisions as a team - according to an agile principle that leads to quick results. This works extremely well," reports Tjorven Niels Graßnick, Corporate Agile Coach at Tesvolt. "All employees have also received company shares, which further promotes the climate of innovation."

Tesvolt's innovative energy management system (EMS) was also a decisive factor for the jury in choosing the Wittenberg-based company as Innovator of the Year once again. The EMS records the energy flows of all consumers and producers and controls them as efficiently as possible. This allows a wide variety of applications such as optimized self-consumption and intelligent peak load capping to be combined - until now, the operator had to decide in advance on one of the possible uses. The electricity storage system therefore adapts even better to the individual needs of trade and industry, thereby saving even more electricity costs. Tesvolt specializes in battery storage systems for trade and industry. The company produces intelligent lithium power storage systems in power classes ranging from 30 kilowatt hours to several megawatt hours. Tesvolt uses high-performance battery cells from Samsung SDI. Tesvolt manufactures its commercial storage solutions in series at Europe's first gigafactory for commercial battery storage systems in Wittenberg and delivers them all over the world.
