The steel processor Wuppermann has received the Best Managed Companies Award 2022, which is presented by Deloitte Private, Credit Suisse, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The award was ceremoniously accepted by the Wuppermann AG Management Board last Thursday in Düsseldorf.
The Best Managed Companies Award is an internationally established competition and is regarded as a seal of quality for outstandingly managed medium-sized companies. The award was established in Canada in the 1990s and is now presented in more than 40 countries, including Germany since 2018.
"We are delighted to receive this award," explains Johannes Nonn, CEO of Wuppermann AG. "The award shows that Wuppermann is on the right track. For 150 years, our medium-sized family business has been pursuing a strategy of long-term and consistent value creation. In recent years, we have developed from a pure steel processor to an innovation leader in corrosion protection. We also see ourselves as leaders in our industry when it comes to sustainability. By 2025, the Wuppermann Group's production process will be 100 percent CO2-neutral," continued Nonn.
Dr. Arndt Laßmann, CFO of Wuppermann AG, adds: "The award honors the entire workforce of the Wuppermann Group. Due to the pandemic, we all had to break new ground - also in our professional lives. Our employees have shown great flexibility and outstanding commitment, so that in 2021 we were even able to celebrate our most successful financial year in the 150-year history of our company."
"As a winner of the Best Managed Companies Award, Wuppermann AG has demonstrated its outstanding corporate management. Wuppermann is thus not only a benchmark for German SMEs, but also stands for a strong and thoughtful economy in turbulent times," adds Markus Seiz, Best Managed Companies Program Leader and Director at Deloitte Private.
