The German Surface Technology Association (ZVO) has launched a women's network to increase the involvement of women in the association. The first meeting is planned for 15 November 2023 under the moderation of Dr. Elke Moosbach, who supports the network on the board.
In companies, it is often women who perform the majority of administrative and technical tasks. Unfortunately, they appear comparatively little at events and in the association's work, the association has found. At the last ZVO Surface Days #OTBerlin23, for example, the proportion of women was just 10%. In order to change this, the ZVO board considered how best to approach female members of the industry and motivate them to get involved, and then considered the possibility of a women's network. This was announced in Berlin and eight women have already signed up.
The network will initially use the online portals to get to know each other better and then work together to develop a program for the coming months.
