The 44th edition of the Forum for Surface Technology, organized by the DGO Research Committee, will take place in Ulm on 24 and 25 May 2023. The venue is new: as the Edwin-Scharff-Haus is closed for renovation work, the conference has been moved to the Maritim Hotel Ulm. Lead topic: Measure - Control - Regulate.
Conservation of resources, energy efficiency and sustainability are generally the key requirements today, which of course apply in particular to all industrially produced goods. Electroplating and surface technology ideally fulfills these framework conditions by creating functional and smart surfaces on inexpensive base materials, thus ensuring the long-term functionality of high-quality products. These conditions apply equally to the electroplating process chain itself.
Measure - Control - Regulate
Under the motto "Measure - Control - Regulate", the 44th Ulm Talk will take a holistic approach to the electroplating process with the individual aspects of digitalization, automation and interaction between man and machine, current and new inline and offline analytics and, finally, quality assurance in conjunction with control technology. The topic of this year's event also concerns a significant part of the ongoing transformation of electroplating and surface technology, i.e. in particular digitalization and networking within the supply and value chain as well as the introduction of new processes and products and the optimization of proven processes.
