Electris Coating Systems, one of the leading manufacturers of copper and aluminum components for the energy industry, has now completed the construction of a state-of-the-art electroplating plant in southern Poland near Krakow. The investment includes a fully automated electroplating line, a modern physico-chemical laboratory and advanced environmentally friendly solutions.

Advanced infrastructure and precision technologies

The approximately 1,500 m² electroplating plant from Electris is one of the most advanced of its kind in Europe, according to the company. Designed to meet high quality and environmental standards, it enables the execution of precise electroplating processes such as silver plating, nickel plating and tin plating of copper and aluminum alloy components as well as other non-ferrous metals. In addition, Electris offers a special service for selective plating and coating. Łukasz Hajdyła, CEO of Electris, explains: "(...) Our priority is to strengthen our leading position in the field of highly specialized components for power distribution on the European markets. Thanks to this investment, we can offer an even wider range of services, including unique electroplating solutions tailored to the specific needs of different industries."

Innovative electroplating solutions

Electris' automated electroplating plant is equipped with separate areas for the simultaneous processing of copper and aluminum. Specialized software enables precise process control, shortens order processing time and ensures comprehensive quality control.

It is also worth mentioning that the modern infrastructure includes various technological transport systems (hanging and drum systems), loading and unloading stations, automatic chemical dosing systems, detailed drying systems and ventilation systems. In addition, the use of one of the largest silver plating baths in Europe enables the electroplating of components with complex shapes and dimensions of up to 2.1 meters.

"In the Electris Coating Systems electroplating plant, we have implemented technological solutions that, combined with advanced process parameter control systems, ensure the repeatability and high quality of the applied layers. We are able to control every operating parameter - from the chemical composition of the bath to the exposure time and the uniformity of the coating. This is crucial for demanding industrial applications," adds Mateusz Wąsik, Business Unit Manager for Electroplating.

Aluminum coating - new technology for demanding applications

The company has also implemented a new technology for coating aluminum alloys with silver, tin and nickel in its electroplating plant. This innovative approach, which is based on advanced surface preparation processes, not only ensures high process stability and repeatability, but also particularly good adhesion of the applied coatings. The precision and durability of coatings on aluminum are critical to many industries - from the energy and rail industries to aerospace and defense to various automotive applications.

Taking responsibility with modern environmental technology

With its electroplating plant, Elektris also sees itself as having a responsibility towards the environment. One of the solutions used is a modern waste water treatment and water recycling system. Thanks to advanced processes such as ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis, waste water is purified and converted into process water, which is returned to the cycle. This leads to high water savings and therefore contributes to environmental protection. In addition, the electroplating plant uses a process heat recovery system that enables efficient energy management and reduces the company'sCO2 footprint.
