Metalworking with lasers and plasma releases various pollutants such as VOCs, formaldehyde, nitrogen oxides, sulphur compounds and microparticles into the ambient air. In order to protect employees from these more effectively than before, a filter system was developed together with companies from Saxony as part of the MultiFUN funding project, which effectively binds a large number of pollutants at the same time.
The flexible filter system consists of several individually replaceable modules. Each filter level contains a specific filter medium that specifically removes certain substances from the room air. A special feature compared to conventional filter systems is the measuring sensor system, which automatically detects when the filter medium is saturated with substances and needs to be replaced. The status is indicated visually via colored LEDs for each filter level and pollutant class separately. Accordingly, only the relevant filter level needs to be replaced.
