Diamond coatings are also ideal for indexable inserts. The tools achieve excellent results in the machining of CFRP and GFRP, graphite, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
With their nanocrystalline, extremely smooth and hard surfaces, multilayer diamond coatings from CemeCon are often superior to other solutions in terms of performance, quality and precision. Diamond-coated indexable inserts are also ideal for machining graphite, non-ferrous metals or fiber-reinforced plastics. Positive insert geometries with a bore can be coated particularly precisely and economically. The chip shape geometry is not changed.
Three multilayer diamond coatings from CemeCon are particularly suitable for indexable inserts (see table): CCDia®CarbonSpeedis the ideal solution for graphite as well as carbide and ceramic green compacts, CCDia®FiberSpeedfor fiber-reinforced plastics and CCDia®MultiSpeedfor AlSi alloys and composites. Diamond-coated indexable inserts have already proven themselves in practice, e.g. when drilling CFRP: CCDia®MultiSpeedhas a tenfold increase in tool life compared to uncoated inserts.
