Flawless punches and dies are essential for producing high-quality components. If the hard metals sintered for this purpose are eroded, the required low roughness values can usually only be achieved with complex post-processing steps. Milled surfaces, on the other hand, are now top quality after just one operation.
This is made possible by the new diamond coating material CCDia® CarbideSpeed® from CemeCon. It can be used to develop extremely powerful and stable precision tools that significantly undercut existing solutions in terms of cost and can reduce the overall process by an estimated one third.
In just one process step, the coated precision tools enable significantly improved surface quality, extremely high contour accuracy and complex component geometries. The first pilot projects during the development phase already showed that they also achieve better performance in terms of productivity and cost-effectiveness than existing solutions.
