The latest version of the Siplace SX placement platform from ASM has new placement head versions, a more powerful vision system, open interfaces for special conveyors and many improved software functions. The SpeedStar CP20 P2 placement head boosts placement performance by 17% to up to 43,250 components per hour - with increased placement accuracy and an even wider range of components.
The two other placement head options MultiStar and TwinStar, which are now designed for larger, more complex components and definable placement forces of up to 100 N, also offer additional flexibility. The blue light of the new camera system enables extremely high-contrast images, additional component-specific exposure settings and multiple images, from which 3D images are calculated for improved process control. The new features also include the OSC Package (Odd Shape Components) and the Passive Clinching Tool for THT processes. Multi-touch monitor and many smart support functions make operation easier and more intuitive. Special feeders from third-party manufacturers can also be integrated quickly and easily via the open third-party feeder interface. A multi-touch monitor, additional smart automatic functions in the software, a new locking system for the hood, the new interface for predictive maintenance and many other software improvements simplify and speed up operation.
