New bending shape for axially wired resistors to simplify assembly

Vishay Intertechnology will soon be offering cement-coated, axially wired resistors in a bendable form that is easy to assemble.

The innovation makes it possible to use the inductance-free components in a surface-mountable manner. They can be used as damping, load and inrush current limiting resistors (resistance ranges: 0.1 Ohm - 5.1 kOhm and 0.27 Ohm - 3.3 kOhm) and, according to Vishay, can be applied to PCBs together with other SMD components in the same manufacturing process. The RoHS-compliant, halogen-free components are equipped with tin-plated connections that can be used with standard soldering processes.
