EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies GmbH (EKPO) and H-TEC Systems GmbH have signed a contract for the development of stack components for PEM electrolyzers. EKPO will contribute its know-how in the development, large-scale production of stack components and the reduction of rejects with a high degree of automated production to the cooperation.
The development and production of the prototypes to be delivered under the agreement, which has already started, will take place in Germany. The development of the stack components is specifically geared towards use in electrolysers in the megawatt range. The stack components from EKPO are used in high-performance electrolysers that work on the principle of PEM electrolysis by splitting water using electricity. H-TEC Systems develops and produces PEM electrolysers and electrolysis stacks for green hydrogen production, which are specially designed for sector coupling. "Speed is the key to driving forward the hydrogen ramp-up. We need strong partners for this," explains Robin von Plettenberg, CEO of H-TEC Systems.
