Fred - short for Footprint Reduction - is getting even smarter. The Carbon Footprint Calculator is getting new functions, a new design and new target groups:
The onboarding of additional supplier industries is currently underway. The climate tool is a project of an initiative of supplier associations, initiated by the forging industry association Industrieverband Massivumformung (IMU).
Fred is a quick and easy calculator of theCO2 backpack of components. It now scores with an individual user-oriented database. Among other things, it stores process-specific bandwidths with average, minimum and maximum values. In addition, the calculator now also speaks English. In the near future, it will also be possible to calculate cutting/removing processes and directly compare up to four Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations. The addition of a Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) module is also in the works.
The climate-friendly tool is also expanding its scope. This means that many more companies will be able to indicate the footprint of the respective product in the shortest possible time in response to customer inquiries or as part of their ownCO2 reduction projects. And to demonstrate the corresponding reduction measures over time. Further partner associations have joined Fred GmbH for the expansion.
The new features of the calculator are the result of the experience of previous users: over 50 companies are already working with the tool. They track down the emission hotspots in their value chain and visualize the Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions of their total emissions. Fred is available as a demo version - interested parties can request two-week access.
